As with each month, October is full of events, sports, study and special activity days at Geneva.
This Thursday, Geneva parents are invited to join Geneva administration as they give guidelines and suggestions on how to prepare your student for college and tips for applying to colleges. This seminar is especially valuable for parents of students in 8th grade and higher. This will be followed up by a visit to campus next Tuesday by a representative from Hillsdale College in Michigan. We have already welcomed a representative from Grove City College in Pennsylvania and we anticipate several more throughout the year.
This weekend is the last opportunity to experience and enjoy Scared to Death by Literature at the home of Josh and J. Lenora Bresler.
The 9th-10th grade pancake breakfast fundraiser (for their Washington DC trip) continues each Friday morning through October. Also, remember you can rent a senior for $50/4-hours labor. This is a fundraiser for their senior trip to Europe.
Football and volleyball continue through October. Check our calendar for game times and locations.
Finally, we’ll wrap up this busy month with a favorite Geneva tradition: Reformation Day! On Oct. 31, all Geneva students will spend the day learning about life in the days of the Reformation through fun activities, food, and games. They will learn about names popular during this period of history, heraldry, the life of a monk, relics, Martin Luther and the 95 statements nailed to the Wittenburg Cathedral door, the plague and many more aspects of Reformation life. This special day at Geneva is a fun way to really understand protestant history.
