We are always so grateful when we are blessed to hear from our families about how Geneva is blessing them. Thank you!
“When I think of the blessings in our family’s life, Geneva Classical Academy is at the top of the list. We have a daughter in second grade, a daughter in fourth grade, a son in sixth grade, and another son who takes 3 high school classes at Geneva part time. We could not be more grateful for the education they are each receiving at Geneva.
I am an educator. Prior to having my own children, I taught in Polk County and Orange County elementary schools. I homeschooled my children for many years and participated and taught in several cooperative programs in the county. The decision to enroll our children at Geneva was lengthy and complex.
It came down to our goals for our children’s education. Some of those include making a priority of their spiritual development alongside their intellectual, training them in how to think, and of course we want their learning to be enjoyable and even fun. Remembering Proverbs 1, that “The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom,” our prayer for them is that they become wise. We want them to have an education that prepares them to live a thoughtful, missional, purposeful life.
Geneva is partnering with us as we pursue these goals, yet they don’t try to take over the role of being the primary influence on our children. We are so thankful for their help. It makes the journey towards our goals more effective and more exciting.
Last night at the dinner table our 7 year old quoted her lines from the play her class will be performing next week. While driving to dance lessons, our 10 year old rattled off all that she is learning about Mars and Jupiter. As I type this, I can hear my middle schooler singing in the shower, “Sing praises to His name; He forgets not His own,” a hymn that he learned in chapel at Geneva. Our teenager told us this morning that his math teacher is one of his “favorite people ever.”
Every week there are countless joys we experience because of Geneva. We love that our children are all on one campus and see each other throughout the day. We love the classical philosophy that capitalizes on their natural stages of development. We love the field trips and special Geneva events that bring history to life as we enjoy the family like community of our school.
Geneva Classical Academy is a special, unique place and we are so thankful that our children are Geneva students. Go Knights!” – Ashley Bennett
