Busy End to 3rd Quarter

by | Mar 13, 2013 | Athletics, Field Trips, News

Its been a busy week on campus as we wrapped up the 3rd quarter of the academic year.  Sixteen of our 7th & 8th graders, along with 12 adults, traveled with Ms. Pyle to the Brevard Planetarium and Observatory last weekend for an overnight field trip.  Ask them about it!

4th and 5th grade students enjoyed field trips earlier in the week, while 6th graders depart Thursday morning on an overnight trip.  Our sweet K5 students will also be enjoying a field trip on Friday as they head to the Lowry Park Zoo.

Our grammar soccer students played hard and almost beat their parents (with help from Coaches Smith, Boutwell and Lamb) during Tuesday’s afternoon match. The parents held on to their slim lead and won 6-5.  You’ll get them next year, students!

That same morning, parents attending Mr. Cali’s Contemporary Takeaways class were inspired to think more deeply and critically as they worked through Tablets V and VI of The Epic of Gilgamesh (notes to follow).

Spring play rehearsals are well underway, as is mens’ flag football.  Culinary arts students are making some yummy plans to be revealed soon.  A fencing club has begun.  Finally, 5th graders have begun their horticulture project. Check it out behind the administration building.

Finally, we are excited to be hosting Dr. Louis Markos on Friday evening.  Please plan to attend!
